Solo project Finger Picking
This project is a mix of several influences, which have come along his musical experience throughout years.
Sebastien has studied different music style such as Finger picking, Jazz, Blues, Funk, latin, … which he tries to apply to his own compositions. His educational background is varied as he has attended two different schools with an international reputation: Jazz Studio, Antwerp and The Conservatorium of Maastricht.
Alongside with his rich education he has worked with a very influential Finger Picking guitarist Jacques Stotzem who he considers as his Mentor. Jacques Stotzem has deeply inspired Sebastien in his music vision on many aspects: Feeling, interpretation, rhythm perception, ...
In his compositions Sebastien values harmony and phrasing since his Jazz educational background is highly involved.
There are also famous blues musicians who have influenced and touched Sebastien: Buddy Guy, Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many more.
In his personal project Sebastien aims to compose music that on the one hand respects the Folk spirit and on the other hand includes Jazz harmony and Funky rhythms.
Sébastien Hogge Quartet
At the crossroad of the finger picking he grows thanks to his particular interest in acoustic guitar, and the jazz influences he shaped all along his education at the conservatory of Maastricht, Sebastien makes a point of merging influences, from wild funk rhythms to harmonic colours between jazz and folk, he holds a blended travel for you, along with three great musicians, Antoine Dawans at the trumpet, Jean Debry at the bass and Lionel Aquilina at the drums.

Sebastien has been playing for one and a half year with “Les R’tardataires”, a Belgian Reggae/Rap band.
They recorded their first album in June 2013 and have toured a lot in Belgium and France (Dour, Ardentes, Francopholies, Botanique, …).
With "Les R’tardataires", Sebastien played for the first time in Canada in November 2014. This experience has definitively contributed to improve his professional skills as musician.
